I upgraded my desktop to enjoy better sound quality while working and relaxing. I bought this device to see if it would actually change the audio signature and the answer is a resounding YES with my hardware. I got about 100 hours of playtime from the Nobsound NS-10P. So far the device has held up great and has given me more pleasure than anything I've ever bought cheaply. 100 dollars. I'm signaling it through a 2013 IMAC Pro and an old Sony 5 disc CD player. The signal is routed through a Nobsound NS-10P and then into a SMSL AD18 desktop class D amplifier. Finally, the amplifier drives a pair of Monoprice K-Bas series desktop speakers and a BIC V1220 powered subwoofer. The table K-BAS sits on is a massive 6 x 4 inch piece of furniture that sits in the center of a 12 x 14 foot home office filled with bookshelves, books and other hard soundproofing materials. The K-BAS were "floated/isolated" from the table and positioned in a way that I felt offered a comfortable soundstage for my general listening position. The floor is carpeted and the subwoofer is angled and tuned to music. I play with different tubes in the preamp but so far have been perfectly happy with the originals and the slight changes they made to the sound coming out of this setup. I haven't had time on the new tubes to comment on whether the tubes are worth the price given the different investment in sound signature. I regularly unplug the preamp to remind myself of the difference in sound. I prefer to add a preamp every time. By using each individual device, I was able to keep costs under my budget and greatly improved the sound quality in this room. If you double your budget you can get a similar set with a much higher quality branded set, to each their own. I am very happy with my setup and how the NOBSOUND NS-10P integrates and works with this equipment. I don't know of many products in the stereo world in this price range that really deliver what they promise, but this one does and if it does, I'm very satisfied. I might buy a second one if this one burns out soon. YMMV, I thought this little gadget was too good not to rate it. I know how much I value honest reviews when looking for gear.
