I didn't know you could store cosmetics in a mini fridge until my wife got interested. Looking around Revain, I came across many mini fridges, but this one was one of the few that specifically mentioned beauty/makeup. Although it is sold and shipped directly from CAYNEL (therefore not eligible for Revain Prime), it is shipped free of charge and within 5 days. First impression is a cute little fridge. My wife opted for Sugar White which is more white with a pink interior. The legs as well as the door handle and the hinge are finished in metallic rose gold. The entire fridge is plastic, but the build quality seems solid. Inside the refrigerator there are 3 main open compartments and a small pull-out shelf at the bottom, and two holders with additional dividers can be placed in the door. Information on setting the temperature. Now that we have it I can report that the temperature is set at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It seemed strange to me at first, until I did some research and found out that the optimal temperature for storing cosmetics is around 45-50 degrees. Unlike a conventional fridge, these mini fridges do not have a compressor, but use thermoelectric (Peltier effect) cooling. Essentially, it contains some sort of electrical component that, when electricity is applied, conducts heat from one side to the other. This is then in turn expelled by a small fan. This type of cooling is often limited to 20-30 degrees ambient cooling, but some mini fridges work better than others. I naturally wanted to measure how well this device was working and measured with my thermometer. The results are as follows: At shutdown, the ambient (and internal) temperature was about 75 degrees Fahrenheit. After plugging in, the internal fan began to cool the refrigerator down to 43-45 degrees, and after cooling for an hour, the internal temperature reached almost 50 degrees exactly. (photo attached). The small fan is audible while you're working, but it's not loud (my laptop is louder) - and it only measured 17 dB according to my multimeter. (photo attached). Overall this is a great little fridge and my wife is very happy with it. We had a small blemish that appeared to have been caused during shipping, but CAYNEL responded quickly (within 12 hours) and fixed the issue immediately, so their customer service is second to none!
