Review on High Gain Antenna Tenda U12 AC1300 Dual-Band Wireless Wi-Fi πŸ“Ά USB 3.0 Adapter for PC and Mac with White Color Compatibility by Paul Haswood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tested at 120Mbps download speed and 20Mbps upload speed. Easy installation. Low price. Very important.

Fast. 120MB! Here are two screenshots of download speeds from around the web. This morning my regular WiFi adapter stopped working, so I had no choice but to install the Tenda Dual Band WiFi USB. Today my internet speed dropped from a normal download speed of 175Mbps to around 120Mbps - this adapter has nothing to do with it. I tested the speed on another desktop computer in the same room just to be sure. If I had checked yesterday I think I would have gotten 170MB like my other adapter before it failed today. I did an overclocking test and after that my old one stopped working. I didn't have to make any adjustments. Somehow I must have messed up the driver. I reinstalled the driver today and it still doesn't work. So I was motivated to open and test the Tenda box. I will update the speed tests after I get a new modem. But so far I'm totally impressed with the 120GHz download speed and 20MB upload speed, but I think it will go faster. Just a day off with my new internet speed I signed up for two days ago. This wireless adapter is at the bottom and the cable modem is at the top. I think I have to go to Suddenlink to ask for a faster modem. I think this cable modem is limited to 175MB. This is several years old. Now they offer 1000Mbps service, but it's quite expensive - $100 per month. I signed up for a 400 Mps service for about $75 a month. but I don't even get half that speed. I think my modem is outdated. I'll have to argue with them for at least an hour or two. Suddenlink installs nothing but very old used modems for current customers. They only issue new modems to new customers. This allowed me to get 120Mbps on the 2GHz channel, which I think everyone would agree with, which is an excellent result. For some reason today it was faster on 2GHz than on a 5GHz channel. The uplink speed was at my maximum download speed service limit of 20GHz.
