I bought this 'good' thermometer to replace my cheaper one which was still working after 4 years but I thought it was probably at the end of its expected life reached. The javelin stopped working after only 9 months. The cheaper off-brand device still works. I've tried replacing the battery on the Javelin to no avail. I also tried to send a message to Javelin customer service over a week ago and got no response. It goes in the trash and I buy another "cheap" again.
