I wanted something I could see from my doorbell when the door is open. My doorbell only sees a 2 inch door hinge when the door is open and when closed the door is the same color as the hinge so it's hard to tell if I left the door open when I did have gone. I used this as a visual indicator. I trimmed it just enough to fit the entire hinge area with no issues. Now the moment I see the red lines I know the door wasn't closed or open without blinking. At night the reflectivity is good. My door light reflects well at night. I didn't notice it that much during the day. All in all I had no problems and would recommend it.
