I used this tool to reduce the thickness of an MDF baseboard. I clamped the drill to the table and used shims to get the desired thickness (the distance from the table top to the edge of the tool). Although this tool was designed for metal, it slowly but surely cuts through MDF, leaving a factory-like finish on the finished piece. I used a hand drill and some gentle maneuvers to wipe away any excess epoxy that was interfering with the rod reducer's position. It worked better than any of my Dremel accessories.
