Review on Scosche TA02B: Color Coded Wire Harness for Installing Aftermarket Stereo in Toyota Vehicles (1984-2017) by Luca Washington

Procurement of all parts before installation

Sometimes you open the radio compartment and find that the factory made a conversion in the middle of the year. It's a good idea to have all the installation tools you can have. Being able to connect at will is a lifesaver. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. During installation, it's nice to be able to prepare the necessary wiring harness "on the workbench" and not hang it upside down under the dashboard! I lay on my back in the driver or passenger seat for several hours with my legs dangling in the back. Staring at the bottom edge of the dashboard while the brake and gas pedals grate in my ears! Too old for this excrement. I buy all the wire sets in advance so I can solder and heat shrink conveniently and do a good job. With a place for all circuits and the necessary tools always at hand! I can get replacement parts for the suspension, but I can do the installation in one fell swoop without having to wait for the correct part to be found on a dusty back shelf and mailed to me. It's nice to have a place to bench test a new head unit before fitting it into the dash. A pair of powered computer speakers can confirm that your device is putting out reasonable audio on the RCA jacks and not "cat howling". You will probably need 4 8 ohm test speakers to test the high level output. have for temporary test connections. It's a few extra bucks for dyno testing, but it's better than having to pull out a new buggy installation. (And if it's your wife's car --)

Pros
  • Car radio and video installation
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
