This is my first primer experience but having bought a lightly used Chevy 2500HD and living in northern Ohio I felt like I needed to protect my car for a long time. First I bought it. I got 2 gallons and was planning on getting my truck, small SUV and Honda Fit ready. Ok after heating the oil and using a sprayer I used a canister which I believe is about 32oz on my truck, that number is for 2 coats too. I'm not sure if some of you are saying you used a whole gallon because I don't see how that's possible unless it's been cleaned (certainly without that much time with a car that big to waste). In general, I have at least a lot of products for the next few years. Viscosity from the cold was like pudding at first, but after heating with a turbo heater, it became very similar to maple syrup. Do it and you won't have any problems. Use a tarp too! It protects against overspray and you can easily slide over concrete lol Updated March 2019 Looks like the rust protection stayed on all winter. My fine mist worked well as far as the eye can see and as a tester to see how long it would last I applied it to the surface of my tires like a tire polish and when I washed my truck they were shiny Tires still where I put it on! So to hell with all those other tire foams, just use this one. I will definitely use it next fall. It also appears that the price has fluctuated based on $10 demand, so it's something to think about. I think next time I apply the product I will try to find another way to make it very thin and sprayable like with a heating rod or a hot knife? I'm open to suggestions because kerosene is expensive and stinks. A good product!
