This should be the ONLY pump to consider when replacing a pump in your Volvo. This is an OEM Volvo with "VOLVO" defaced. Other brands of pumps have been known to fail, causing serious problems with your timing belt and all too often catastrophic engine failures. There are two things you need to know before you buy: Buy a separate pad, even if it comes with one. It comes unprotected in a water pump box and has a high chance of being damaged on arrival. Is this really the work you want to do a second time? In my case the gasket was in decent condition but not perfect. I took a chance and ended up tearing it during installation - I had to buy another one anyway! Cheap, $3 insurance. Eventually you will need to either buy 7 new Volvo branded water pump bolts or buy an antifreeze RTV to put on your bolt threads before reinstalling. The water pump will leak if you don't do any of these things. I decided to buy new Volvo bolts because this pump is difficult to place on the engine and because you have to be an acrobat to put the bolts in without getting RTV all over the place. Also make sure you have a good scraper handy as you will need to clean the old gasket VERY well before installing the new pump and gasket. Otherwise you will have leaks. Removing this old gasket was the most time consuming step in the process. Hope that helps!
