Decent option for a hearty, savory snack, not so tasty

Kay's Natural line has one of my favorite protein snacks, but their protein chips aren't the tastiest (but not as bad as pretzels); The brand definitely does sweet flavors better than salty ones. I tried both Parmesan and Chili Nacho flavors and I wasn't impressed with the taste. The crunch and portion size make them a delicious snack. I just wish the brand would up the ante on the savory flavors. Snacks, but popular options like Quest and SimplyProtein taste better). The taste, while savory and not terrible, is just what I need. Parmesan has a very mild cheese note and hardly reminds me of real Parmesan cheese. "Chili Nacho" has some hints of Chili Nacho, but is not very spicy and is even milder in terms of cheese. Strangely, some packets (even in a 6-pack) were a bit saltier than others. The texture of the chips is quite dry, more like chips than crispy chips. Personally, I don't mind dryness, but I understand why some people find the texture cardboard-like. For a serving size (34g) there are quite a few chips in the pack. I also find them to be a fairly satisfying 115-calorie snack, but definitely not a meal replacement. I wouldn't necessarily call these chips a healthier snack, but the ingredients aren't too bad (mostly soy protein isolate plus flour and starch), the packets are fairly thick and firm, the chips are well protected and mostly intact. I regularly order different flavors from the brand and they always arrive in good condition.
