ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED for AKORN Kamado BGE or Char-Grill grills. I (accidentally) super-strengthed my ACORN (pricked the needle and burned the temp gauge!), and my lava castle survived, little more than charred. This is a real bargain at a great price.
