Review on πŸ”Œ Position Mountable Circuit Breadboards for Industrial Electrical Applications by Sean Maile

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very practical switch set

I ordered two sets of DIP switches because I find them very inexpensive. I received 5 switches listed in the product description in each package. The item is packaged exactly as shown on the description page. I kept mine in a set of labeled storage boxes for easy use around my shop, but the storage case that the switches come with is very economical and ideal for a small workspace. The contacts on each switch appear to be lightly gold plated rather than just tin. The switch action is firm and has a soft tactile pulse as the switch is opened and closed. It's not as "clicky" as some of my older brand switches. The electrical specs of the switch are identical to the branded switches I have. AN IMPORTANT CLUE. The switch wires in this kit are designed for PCB mounting. They are too thin to simply plug into a breadboard without soldering. I've tried a few of these and the pins tend to bend instead of going into pins on the breadboard. The well-known branded switches in my shop have thicker tinned connection wires and easily plug into the breadboard (see photo). You may be able to get the switches on a breadboard without soldering if you are careful and use a lot of pressure. I was not satisfied with the effort required and the impact I was getting from the results. I think this set of switches is very useful for PCB projects.
