Review on Street Notes: Photography Assignments and Workbook by Kelly Caballes

I have been a huge fan of Eric's for several years and have been an active subscriber to his blog ([.]) having first stumbled upon him when purchasing mine, when I was looking for device reviews first camera. In case you don't know, Eric is a street photographer and teacher who for the past five years has been using his blog as a vehicle to educate and empower aspiring "street people" through the sharing of practical (technically oriented) knowledge. he earned himself in his career and also learned from his studies of the masters of the genre and his inspiring, thoughtful reflections on life and philosophy. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and give it a try; It's a huge reservoir of information that will accelerate your development as a photographer, and one of the few "professional" blogs that doesn't constantly inundate you with ads or product links. I've taken a few photography workshops over the years, including PhotoUno's introductory Digital Photography I course in New York (12 hours over six Saturdays for $600) and Eric Kim's advanced Discover Your Unique Voice in Street Photography course in Los Angeles (24 hours for three days for $500). While I've found each of them to be extremely valuable in my development as a photographer and would have no hesitation in recommending any of them, I've learned that one of the best things about attending workshops is that it just makes you want to get out there and shoot , because for me, one of the biggest challenges I face as a non-professional photographer is maintaining this passion and inspiration for photography in my daily life. Street Notes is the antidote to this all-too-common complaint. By providing a library of well-structured assignments designed by an experienced photographer/teacher, Street Notes essentially serves as a pocket seminar for intermediate and advanced learners that costs many times less than a live class. And when used in conjunction with Eric's blog, Street Notes only offers live post-task critique compared to the traditional workshop model. Don't get me wrong, nothing beats the experience of a really good seminar or a personal critique, but $20 Street Notes is worth every penny. Just throw it in your camera bag (it's well made and can take a beating), and whenever you need a motivational shoot, just pull it out and do one of the tasks (and let the social media machine do it). doing for you). this is important if you are truly guided by peer review).
