This clamp always works despite being the worst on the market. The features are great for actually fitting the tip, except it ALWAYS leaves a small dent on the top of the cue shaft that needs to be rubbed down with a dent remover. They turn FLEXIBLE into an identical model. Must buy. I'm pretty sure the same company makes it for this very reason. Plastic/polyurethane model won't dent the shaft. For example, metal is good for cues in a home bar, but don't use it for your good cues. I am a former sponsored pro and former pool hall/cue shop owner. So trust me when I tell you it will ring in your rod and if you don't connect it well enough the tip won't cure flush with the tip there is no way not to tighten it and ring.
