It's ok if they don't need sharpening. The color is intense and really pops on black paper, but the colored chalk centers crumble when you try to sharpen them. They are too soft and break instantly whether you use a hand sharpener or a blade. REALLY annoying and such a waste of money - you can use the whole pen in one drawing because the center keeps breaking when sharpening is needed and by the time you have enough chalk to use the pen most of it is gone. It's just too expensive for them to break up the way they are.
