Review on Ultimate Performance and Comfort: Smartwool PhD Outdoor Light Micro Sock by Phillip Reed

I have purchased several pairs of SmartWool Light Micro in the past and the latest batch has not had the same durability as my previous pairs. I bought three pairs of these socks 8 months ago and each sock slips on the heels and wears out. For a premium (and expensive) product, I expect them to last over 8 months with no issues. In the photos provided I am comparing an 8 month old sock to a 3 year old SmartWool sock that I bought in 2015. The 8 month old toe sock is grey-blue and has noticeable heel pilling. The 3-year-old sock is grey-orange, lint-free. I wear both 8 month old socks and 3 year old socks once a week to work in the company office. I am disappointed in my latest batch of SmartWool socks and would not recommend them due to durability issues.
