These are not small units, but not so large as to be unwieldy or unwieldy. They are well suited for installation next to a monitor or on an entertainment center. These are basically high-performance midrange drivers with a tweeter and bass port, so they reproduce the full spectrum of sound without having to make room for a separate bass unit. One of the great things about them is that they have separate treble and bass controls so the sound can be fine tuned. I found the left 5ft cable to be fine for desktop placement, but wish they had provided a longer cable for shelf installation. Another great feature is the auto shut off! The volume control is the power button, which can be a little tight and slippery if you're playing for half a day, causing them to turn off after about 5 or 10 minutes when they no longer detect any sound, and then turn back on. with a few seconds delay when they detect sounds again. All in all, you will never feel better about buying another desktop speaker system.
