The quality of the flashlight is not very good. The screw holding the mechanism together fell out after the first two uses. Fitting a new screw isn't a big deal though, so it's not really a problem. So was the durability (I had issues with a leak after about a year, but I was able to fix that too). The real problem is that I'm not sure this type of kitchen burner - just the top of a canister - is safe. When the canister is new, the weight of the fuel balances the weight of the top of the burner. When you start using the fuel, it tips over - to tip over to fill the burning fuel without the risk of it tipping over. You might say, well, don't put it on while it's lit, but if you're going to use it in the kitchen, you'll surely be tempted to do so for a second or two while flipping what you're cooking. Instead of turning the gas off and on again. Even if I approached the shutdown religiously, I wouldn't trust others in my family to always do it. Manual replenishment. It seems to me that the tipping problem can be solved by changing the design to include a counterweight that snaps into the bottom of the canister. But I haven't seen any of these guys (not to say there aren't, I haven't shopped much). Another issue I'm not aware of is not this product's fault - This is how you should dispose of empty canisters. According to my local recycling center, just stick a 'used' label on them and they go in the regular trash. But in my experience with this torch they are never 100% empty. I don't know if they can explode. I know that when mine failed I could hear the gas leak even after it was turned off and at that point I laid it on concrete until it stopped hissing. all kinds of culinary tasks without which you will hate. I wish I knew which guy was the strongest. These days I don't really believe in items designed for the kitchen. I suspect the lights used by plumbers/jewelers etc could be more durable.
