Review on TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router - Renewed with Two USB Ports, IPv6 and Guest Network by Kristine Tay ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality does not meet expectations, I will not buy any more.

Router is so-so, not worth the money. Wouldn't buy a second time. Here they wrote that the Internet falls off only on v1, and so I am the owner of v2 and responsibly declare that nothing has improved. I tried ALL possible firmware, both stock out of the box, and the last official one from the 2022 site, and 2 versions older from English, and custom open wrt. On open wrt, 5GHz didn’t start at all, I know about running the command to activate it after the firmware. Now I'm thinking about asus rt66, but they write about overheating. Summarizing, we can say that ac wifi has not yet been really mastered, it is in some kind of beta stage. Even top-end devices with a horse price tag screw up in full.

Pros
  • I liked that there is an open-wrt firmware on it - a full-fledged Linux and a bunch of software, respectively, but it's still damp. Returned to the official.
Cons
  • - buggy, the Internet constantly falls off on both ranges, especially when watching a video. At first it overloaded, but then it bothered me, after a while it reappears. - A very weak signal at 5 GHz, even near the router I did not see all the reception bars, if you go to the kitchen and close the door, then the connection disappears altogether. The settings are max. An old n dlink broadcasted with a bang throughout the apartment, and even now the neighbor's dlink is caught through a concrete wall much better. - on proprietary firmware does not show hundredth channels. - our price is too high, in China with 6 antennas it will be a couple of thousand cheaper, we mainly sell the European version with 3 antennas.
