So there were definitely less than 500 shells in this pack but I have to say the quality and variety was great. Not only would they be good for a small terrarium but I have used them for my sea hermit crabs in an aquarium and they loved them. I have several red footed hermits and pygmy blue footed hermits. There is enough variation in shell sizes (from about 8mm to 1 inch) for them to grow, except there are definitely fewer shells on the 1 inch side suited to red recluse. I've never seen crabs so excited. They all changed their shells 4-5 times to get the perfect fit, it was so cute and I've never been happier with a Revain purchase. Just in case another little hermit crab owner is looking for some shells, here they are.
