Review on ๐Ÿถ Zoovilla Dog Crate: Versatile Kennel and Cage for Dogs by Jennifer Powell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love it and my dog โ€‹โ€‹loves it.

I read most of the reviews AFTER I ordered it (I know, I know) and I panicked as many of them weren't very good, especially about the flimsy door locks. At that moment I thought I'd just have to wait and see for myself. My wait was shorter than expected as the box arrived a day earlier than expected. I unpacked the box and immediately inspected it for defects or missing parts. All details have been taken care of, but there was a very small scratch on one of the fairing pieces that goes to the floor. It was very small and I honestly can't tell if it was shipped that way or if I was careless and scratched it while unpacking it. He was so tiny so I was fine. The instructions say it's best for two people to assemble the dog cage, but I did it myself and it was pretty easy. The instructions could have been better; There were only pictures and they weren't that good either, but I could understand them perfectly. One thing I find odd is that there is a latch in the double doors. I guess they may have added this to make them more secure after getting customer feedback, but that's in a weird and awkward place. However, this makes these doors much more secure. I checked how strong the deadbolts were on double doors without an interior lock and they turned out to be pretty weak. I relocked it and it was very secure again. I have tiny hands so I can maneuver them to pick the lock but I see this as a problem for someone with normal to large hands. Now I thought maybe I put the lock in wrong, but I lined it up with the pre-drilled holes and followed the drawing in the instructions; I think so it is. To be honest, at some point during assembly I thought it wasn't going to be strong anymore, but once I tightened the flat head screws (I don't know what they're called) it sounded a lot more textured. I dare say it's pretty strong! Just don't overtighten the screws. Upon completion of assembly, I was relieved to find that the box turned out better than many reviews describe. It's super cute! I felt like there was no need to use wood glue or add extra latches like some do once I had everything together. I don't mind doing this in the future but I think it will keep my dog as safe as it is now. I will note that the tray that comes with it is a bit small, but I put my dog's bed on it and it fits perfectly. I have an adult dog and this one will work for us but as it has no floor I would probably recommend a different cage if buying for a puppy or for training. a year ago. When he got home I bought a canvas cage and he DID NOT like it AT ALL. But with this new box he lay there as if he had owned it for many years. He seems very comfortable and seems to like it! Pros: Attractive Easy to assemble Sturdy Dog loves it Cons Weird internal position of the extra lock for the double doors (if I assemble it correctly)
