Velvet bokeh! - Camera & Photo

First: DO NOT buy this lens if you are looking for a super fast portrait lens. Despite being an f1.6 lens, it can't (and isn't designed to) take very sharp photos wide open. The lens eventually becomes very sharp at f5.6 and below and can be used as a portrait lens. Why you should buy this lens: This lens produces a velvety and magical bokeh, unlike what you've seen at f2 and f2.8. As such, this is one of my favorite lenses when I need magical velvety bokeh, especially during the holiday season with reflective elements and twinkling lights. Aperture f1.6 creates a "dreamy" bokeh, which is essentially a special effect and unsuitable for most shooting situations. In addition, it is also an excellent macro lens. About the lens: This is a high quality compact metal (not plastic) lens. It is fully manual/mechanical with no electronic components. Conclusion: Best bokeh lens (hence the name "Velvet") that I have ever tried. However, it is only recommended for professionals or advanced enthusiasts as it is a fully manual lens. I highly recommend it. This is an excellent lens. You will have a lot of fun with it.
