This works great for my 2003 Mustang with Mach 460 system. This is required if you have an aftermarket head unit with a stock subwoofer/ Install speakers. Hallmarks of the factory Mach 460 system include a 5V output. Installing a stock 12V main unit will minimally result in the loud pop that many users hear upon power up, or possible/eventual system crash. This voltage adapter solves the problem perfectly. The wiring is more complicated than the standard setup, but not overly complicated. I searched YouTube and found a video with some wiring information and figured out the rest myself. Check out the picture to see how it looks together. I know the best fix/upgrade for a Mach 460 installation is a complete overhaul. I'm not ready to spend that much money now. I'd rather invest in faster movement. This is great for what I was looking for.
