Review on Bosch GAS18V 02N Handheld Vacuum Cleaner: Compact and Powerful Cleaning Solution by Dawn Coleman

Powerful, the right size. and uses your 18 volt batteries

Sorry as a vacuum cleaner user since the late 80's I have seen units of all sizes. I just threw away the non-working Dyson because I was fed up with dwindling battery life and the hassle of all the connections. I threw away my Dewalt wet/dry vacuum because it only works on old batteries, not new 18v lithium batteries and I hate plugging it in. Heck, even my RC car collection with its many connectors and different battery types has made me rethink. We've learned in over 20 years that a single battery platform outperforms most features of any brand. So, this is a great little vacuum cleaner. But more importantly, it uses my big (or small) 18v Bosch batteries. Now I threw away all my 18 volt Dewalt tools (and lame LION batteries that last half a year). Since getting my hands on the 12v Bosch micro tools, I've expanded my collection from 18v tools to larger types, and the fact that this little vacuum uses my monster 8ah Bosch battery , is literally hilarious. And the same battery, also available in lighter 2 and 4 Ah versions, will work with my saber saw, circular saw, blaster, wet/dry vacuum, my ugly tool that I love and just about everything else. I love that the 4 year old Bosch 18 volt tools work with the latest batteries unlike some Dewalt products. I just received a tiny fan and it's so cool for its size. I've never owned a single Bosch matrix. A dozen Dewalt tools have died after only a few years of use. We don't want to constantly replace tools with new generation devices. And we certainly don't want to constantly replace dying and expensive batteries or deal with generational compatibility. The 18V and 12V batteries from Bosch have outlasted everything I've tried (Ryobi so far). I have fifty year old 12 volt batteries that last as long as new ones. The same with 18V. So, yes, a nice little vacuum cleaner. but more importantly, low cost when used with existing batteries in your collection. This little vacuum cleaner is just a vacuum cleaner. But it works well and uses batteries that I'm sure will stay with us forever. Buying a Bosch tool without tools is not expensive. Invest in a set of 2, 4 and 8Ah 18v batteries and you have options across the board without the pain and hassle of dying tools and batteries.

Pros
