SHORT VERSION: If you have dripping water from the ceiling due to ice on the roof, I recommend this product as one of the solutions. This is the cheapest and quickest way to solve the ice problem. A picture is worth a thousand words so check out the pictures to see how it worked on my roof. LONG VERSION: There is nothing worse than hearing/seeing water dripping from the ceiling in the kitchen, living room or bedroom. You can find more information about an ice dam, but most of it is due to improper insulation between the ceiling and the roof. I don't have the budget to fix my attic's insulation problem so I tried many different solutions but this roof electrical cable worked the best and solved my ice dam problem. The instructions provided with this cable describe very clearly how best to mount it on a roof. So take the time to read the included instructions and follow them to make sure the cables don't touch each other. To do this, use the clamps provided and ensure the cable is routed in the gutter so that it does not become jammed by ice as this can cause gutter sag and other water drainage problems. If you have a switch in your house that can control an outlet outside, I would recommend getting a control switch so you don't forget to unplug the power cord on the roof.** TIP** I don't always turn on Power cables on the roof when it snows. Instead, I look at the weather forecast to find out what the temperature will be in the next few days after the snowfall. In warm and sunny temperatures, I prefer not to turn on the power cord because freezing temperatures don't allow an ice dam to form. TOTAL LINE: 5 out of 5 stars.
