Review on Fill Rite FR152 Piston Nozzle Spout by Jesse Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Got a Fill-Rite FR112 to install the gas canister.

I was trying to figure out a way to get rid of my cheap hand pump (which kept breaking) on my 30 gallon gas tank and find a quality pump that would work . It's impossible to find a quality pump that would wind it up easily. I found this Fill-Rite FR112 pump. I took a chance knowing it has a 2" base and a 1 1/4" intake manifold. It was pretty easy to scale it down to size (details at the local hardware store). It took three parts. 2" female thread with spigot reduced to 1 1/4" and then 1 1/4" female thread. I bought all three pieces for less than $9. I used PVC and PVC glue to glue the pieces together. used gas resistant thread sealant ($7) and all tightened. The only issue I have is the 1 1/4" inner end. It was a standard NPT thread and my intake manifold had a weird Chinese metric fine thread. The PVC worked very well as I was able to cut it and remove the chips. The fuel tank suction line was not damaged. I let everything dry and let it go. It worked great! You can get the same three pieces out of galvanized steel and they will work just fine except you may damage the threads on the 1 1/4" suction tube. The only thing I have to do is add a ground wire. The pump seems to be of great quality Good quality and should last a long time. One thing I liked is that the manual came with a list of the parts. This might be useful in the future.I hope not.So far I am very happy with the pump , the time will tell.

Pros
  • Easy to use pump with durable die-cast aluminum body
Cons
  • Low maintenance
