The cats say "meh " in my review

I've used a large gravity water dispenser for our cats for decades. They are reliable and the cats seem to be satisfied with them. I'm sure they'd prefer a bowl of fresh water refilled multiple times a day, but that's not going to happen, but I thought a "cat fountain" could be some middle ground. The Sedioso Cat Fountain is fairly typical of these although it does have a wireless induction type power connection that means the power cable never goes into the water. The induction unit slides into a slot underneath the bottom of the reservoir and works similar to wireless phone chargers. Another interesting feature is that the cable has a standard USB type plug but the unit does not come with a transformer that plugs into the wall. I guess the manufacturer assumes people already have plenty of these lying around (and they're probably right). The tank and most of the pieces are plastic (vs stainless steel for some of these cat fountains). There are a couple filters that need cleaning and/or replacing every couple of weeks. The unit did not come with replacements but they are available on Walmart.Conveniently the instructions say the bits with the exception of the pump are dishwasher safe. One downside of these cat fountains that does worry me is their need for power. If the power goes out the cats don't have water available. I suppose you could plug this into a battery backup and then plug the battery into the wall, but the gravity feeders don't require that kind of work around.Ultimately though it's about what the cats prefer. I put this new item next to their gravity feeder and so far they seem to prefer the gravity feeder. This seems to be a reasonably nice unit with some nice features so I doubt the cats singled out the Sedioso unit, rather they prefer what they know which is the trusty gravity feeder. I'll keep the Sedioso running for a week and see if they eventually switch, but their initial reaction was "meh".NOTE: the instructions missed an important step: there is a small silicon plug about the diameter of a dime provided that needs to be placed in the "thread column" located in the tank, otherwise water could splash out when cleaning and changing the water.
