Great price. This replaces the similar Westinghouse that I hated for years. The Revain listing looked the same as the stock ones but with a different brand name and a lot cheaper. My wife looked at the picture on the box and said it looked ugly but then I said once it came up you wouldn't care. When he got up, she didn't mention it again. Slats can be installed in plain white or wood grain; We did wood grain and it looks decent. I really like that the lamp holder points straight down to the bottom of the glass bowl (towards the floor) because we are not using a traditional incandescent lamp but an LED lamp which doesn't emit light in all directions - so it helps with spreading the light evenly across the room, unlike Westinghouse which is installed on the side leaving half the room dark. I also appreciated the style of mounting bracket that allows you to hang the weight of the engine while attaching the wires, and then actually used that feature as part of the permanent suspension. Westinghouse post-glued a hook to the brace that you must thread through one of the mounting holes, which can cause that hole to bend, and then have to be removed from that hook once the wiring is complete. (do not drop!) and then attach to the frame. Just tilt this one, screw in a few screws, done. The wide engine cover touching the ceiling seemed a bit odd at first, but it helped hide the paint marks from the previous ceiling light. And the best reason I like it more than the Westinghouse is the sound of the engine. It's what you might expect, and Westinghouse had a ridiculous hum that vibrated through the bones of the house and could be heard in every room. I plan on replacing the Westinghouse ceiling fan in the other room with this one as well, although it's not broken yet.
