Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Gizmo Dorks Polycarbonate Filament: Enhance Your Additive Manufacturing with Top-Quality Products by Ronnie Polk

Good pattern for printing polycarbonate filament

I bought this as a test kit to experiment with polycarbonate filament. I didn't want to spend a whole 1kg so it was the perfect size. As mentioned in the review, it suffers a bit from filament spool entanglement. It wasn't bad enough to ruin my prints, but I had to keep an eye on it. It will be difficult to hold on to the bed, and deformation is a problem. The temperature of the bed must be at least 90 degrees, otherwise it will not stick to anything. 90ยฐC and above, ideally something around 100ยฐC and 110ยฐC is great. I tried Buildtek style, Glass and PEI but I got the best results with 3M 468MP adhesive film. The thing sticks to it and stays glued to the entire print. The filament also prints surprisingly well. With the right settings and sticking to the base, I'm reliably getting high-quality, durable parts. The color is translucent blue, which I would consider a good color. The filament seems to hold up well at around 1.75mm and almost never clogs for any reason. The parts are durable and true to size. I would definitely do it, but yet another PC goofball gizmo.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
