Review on MikroTik RBcAPGi-5acD2nD-US: High-performance Dual-Band 802.11ac Access Point by Guo Tai Lim ᠌

How could such a bad product be made?

I wanted to get the maximum speed of the Internet at every point of the apartment. Started with one AP and moved up to 4 CAPacs and 1 HAPac. Taxied all this splendor Mikrotik CCR1009-7g-1c-1s + PC (this is the opposite of a delightful device). I put one point - it doesn’t finish in the nursery at all, in all the rest - at least one load-bearing wall on the way - the speed drops from 400 to 20, sometimes 50 Mbps. Hell with the settings is a separate song. These devices are not for humans. You really need to set yourself a goal to understand RouterOS. BUT! Even if you understand everything, Mikrotik will please you with unpredictable behavior. For example, it is obvious that with such a density of points, they need to be distributed over different channels. If you drive in different frequencies and limit the possibility of expanding the channel (do not disable it, but set at least some value, for example Ceee), then the speed will be less than 100 Mbps. If not removed, they somehow miraculously stray into one channel. What the heck? But none. Just here. Well, Mikrotik does not have any seamless roaming. There is only a crutch in the form of a client kick when the signal strength threshold is reached. If this is not configured, then the phone will hang until the last moment on the access point, which, even if through 2 walls, barely, but finishes it off. And you will have 0.2 Mbps even if you are sitting under an access point. Total - with the greatest joy I sold all access points. I took one access point of a competitor. She alone has already covered all the rooms. I will put another one in the nursery and there will be 500 + Mbit / s instead of 20 as it is now. Yes, it is many times more expensive, but if you want to turn it on and it works, then this is definitely not Mikrotik. This is for those who love "On a hammock and flippers". Members of the sect of witnesses of Mikrotik are invited to comment, who will colorfully tell me how crooked I am.

I recommend everyone to buy. If you can cope with the settings, that for a specialist will definitely not be a problem, but for the rest .)))

We are engaged in electrical work and installation of low-voltage networks and install Mikrotik equipment on our facilities (requires in-depth knowledge of settings), or unify, but the price for the latter is very different

Has some pros complete set, even a poe adapter and two cases, round and rectangular, are included Has cons: impossible to set up without instructions. but the Internet is full of manuals for any configuration - just repeat the steps.
