the size was right and it was great but my problem came from the twisted back. The thread on one of the plugs was badly damaged, but since I couldn't see it I thought I screwed it in correctly. When I wanted to take them out to clean them and see why my ears were irritated, I haven't been able to take them off in my entire life. I ended up going to a piercing shop and timidly asking for help. It took 2 piercers about 10 minutes to get one out! They both had to push as hard as they could to get the back of the threads to unscrew. They also told me my ear was irritated/blistered/chafing on metal. I stopped wearing them and while the design is very cool and looked great at 5/8" I wouldn't recommend them. If you get them I would suggest o-rings instead of screws. and take them out while you sleep!
