I really tried this thing. I've been through the Mojave and Empire deserts, dust storms, heavy rain, undulating roads, freeways, etc. The very first time I tightened one of the straps at the top was one of those to tie something tight and long, such as a sleeping mat or a tent, it immediately pulled away from the main part. I could still use it to just tie it to my security cage, but for most people that would disable that feature. Sometime over the next year, one of the small locking straps for one of the top storage pockets snapped while also being protected. The bag isn't out of order, but not by much. My last ride out of the top bag, long and narrow, the zip was totally out of order. I usually put a hammer and a rubber mallet in there. The zipper just stopped closing. Then the zipper puller broke when I tried to fix it. I hate poor quality zippers and this bag uses them. Luckily not in every subject. So the top middle pocket is out of order. I can also confirm that it is definitely not waterproof or dustproof. I add things like first aid kits and fuses, things with their own containers, plus basic hand tools like sickle wrenches, screwdrivers, etc., and finally some basic items like duct tape. Anything unaffected by the elements. I am currently looking for a new one and am hoping to find another brand that may be of better quality as Bestop seems to use cheap stitching and zippers that are barely enough to work properly. Generally this will work, but don't count on it carrying anything of real value. 2.5 stars at best
