Works exactly as expected. A bit uncomfortable to put on and take off regularly but we keep it on our sofa because our last sofa was ruined by our cat with anxiety issues who peed on it (yes we still love her) and we have a new expensive one Bought a sofa and wanted it to keep it dry. I take the cover off and put it back on about 5 times a week. Now I can only put it on by going to each side 1 or 2 times. When I'm not using it, I just throw it on the floor. Another reviewer said it would be helpful to mark the top two corners with different colors to make it clearer how to tighten them. I always take it off a certain way so I know which side is which when I put it back on, so I didn't mark the corners on mine but agree it would help. Sometimes I just sit on it and of course it makes a lot of rustling noises, but I soon forget it's there (though I can see how many people don't have it). I've bought 6 of these so far. Two are "ruined" from being peed on (didn't feel like wiping everything down and hoping to get all the smell out, although it might pull them back at the same time), one from a tear in the top one corner and my other cat has decided she likes to chew on the plastic rim which is not good for her. I have the one on right now and have 2 spares so I can replace it as soon as an incident occurs. My cat's claws make small punctures when they jump or climb on it so they can get through each time they urinate, but they will be very small; the plastic is pretty thick. This is another reason I threw away the peed ones, not sure how much of the innards I would need to clean of anything that might seep through the punctures. My cats avoided the couch completely at first, but after about 3 months they started jumping on it again.
