well i'm being honest idiot i didn't look at the photos closely enough to realize that the case that turned up was bright orange. Can't say it was a happy surprise but still. At least I can find it. In the preface to all this; I'm not a crocheter pro. I've learned 3 times in the past and eventually forgot and now I'm going back to the train to relearn so I can crochet a granny square baby blanket. However, I have had some experience with several types of crochet hooks and based on my beginner experience I would say they are not that bad. At first other people seem to have problems with their own affairs; mine, on the other hand, came without pauses, without problems. Granted, it's not a super fancy expensive case, but it works well enough and seems to hold things in place. Aside from the bright orange color, I don't have much of a problem with it. The inner small hook slots are made of some sort of plastic that's attached to the case itself. It is in good condition now but I can see that over time it will break, tear and not hold the hooks properly. However, by the time you get to that stage, you'll either decide that crochet isn't for you, or you'll switch to a quality brand. And you will do what my mother and thousands of other knitters did and went to construction banks full of crochet hooks. The hooks were mostly smooth, again not expensive and beautiful, but decent enough. The small hooks seem strong enough and although my 1.0mm hook seemed to have a sharp edge at the top I think it polishes easily enough. My .90mm hook looked like it was forming, it seemed too aggressive because it was a little rougher around the head and in the hook, but it also didn't look like I couldn't fix it. And even if I can't, I don't care, I have other hooks that are small enough to replace it perfectly, it's not a big loss. I don't intend to use them anyway. Tapestry needles look beautiful and I am always impressed by metallic tapestry needles rather than the pink and blue ones found everywhere. and the little plastic safety bars look like this. small safety locks made of plastic. It's nothing out of the ordinary. I was curious so I opened and closed the pins. Here you definitely have to apply thumb strength; I wouldn't recommend pens for people with printing issues or general hand issues unless they have a patient friend nearby. It's worth it even if you upgrade later. I compared costs by going to Michaels on my big yarn hunt (that was another story). They had a set of about 5 hooks (bigger ones) and cost $8 and came without the case and other goodies included here. Maybe they're made out of slightly better aluminum, and maybe they're better quality, but they definitely weren't worth the cost, especially for those new to crocheting who are the kind of people I think they are will do Choose this set.
