Easy to take apart to clean inside. For example, a plastic handle that releases the block but cannot be removed. My old one (not that brand) had a nylon ring that could be slipped on and off easily. In addition, the angle used looks like it will prevent the end of the tube from bending and breaking, which happened to the old one due to the pressure on the turbo nozzle to effectively clean the carpeted stairs. I've had no issues with cat hair getting stuck in the gaps of the assembled parts which are almost impossible to get out as they bunch up, leading to complete failure over time. Had to remove the "guard" which is easy to remove so it picks up pet hair on carpet stairs, otherwise it would just walk across the carpet without pulling out hair and dirt as the impact brush was too high above the carpet. I think it will work effectively with pads with protection on, but I haven't tried it. Works really well with my vacuum as the vacuum has great suction power so the roller on this attachment spins efficiently. It thoroughly cleans carpet stairs - removes all dirt from hair, dust and cat litter, but has no aggressive effect on carpet fibres. On the other hand, it costs more than I wanted to spend, but I'm pretty happy with its function and glad I bought it. Been using it for many months now and it hasn't broken and easy to clean. Somehow I ordered 2! of them and was a little upset with myself. But after using it for about a week I decided not to send the second one back as it works so well and I will give it to my daughter. If that were the case I would send the second one back instead of giving it away.
