LED lights require a direct connection to the car battery to work.

One reason I bought it was that my previous speakers needed to be upgraded due to distortion. tension to work. This means that you have to connect it to either the car battery or the cigarette lighter. If you don't know much about these things I would recommend a specialist. I installed mine without LED. The quality is amazing if you have the right EQ settings, the bass isn't bad either, just wish the LED lighting wasn't that difficult to install.
