Review on FJC 46230 Universal Battery Hold Down by Robert Gilbert

Before using I was missing the battery latch and the battery bounced and slid into the compartment, acid leaked from the vent covers and made a mess. Since this is a universal mount, I expected it to be sufficient. The screw turned out to be the same size as the missing one and tightened fairly well. The brackets themselves are relatively flimsy, being made from mild steel rather than cast iron like some. Be careful not to overtighten the screw or it may go through the hole in the bracket. I ended up adding my own thicker and larger washer and a lock washer I had laying around to make it more secure. All in all, it served its purpose and was relatively inexpensive.
