Plug lies flat but at an angle, not vertical, interfering with adjacent outlets (four-pin outlets). In addition, the cord is a woven fabric that is not very comfortable for the floor or kitchen countertop. OK. It's just not well designed. I like to say it wasn't designed by a "woman". We use these products throughout the home and we know what's easy to keep clean and what works well around appliances. Kind of a disappointment, that's one thing.
