Invaluable for car restoration. Instead of blasting small parts and devices, you can soak them in Evapo-Rust for 1-2 days (if they're really encrusted) and they usually look like bare metal. You will need to brush and/or dab Scotchbrite in water with a mild detergent, dry and oil after soaking to remove any remaining rust and grout. You can complete the finish with a fine wire circle, more Scotchbrite, etc. Then leave blank, use protectant, paint, plate and whatever else is needed. Larger parts can be made in cheap plastic containers (under the bed) from Wallyworld or other chain stores. Really hard rust comes off, but the surface is pitted and usually a bit dark. This material removes gilding and anodizing fairly quickly. Does not seem to remove silver cad/zinc.
