SHIPPING The order was dispatched quickly and arrived within the expected time frame stated in the assembly instructions. The seat came in a separate box in pimply packaging. Overall perfect packaging, everything arrived in perfect condition. ORDERING AND ASSEMBLY PROCESS PROCESS A few things differed from the photos shown here at Revain: * The seat was all black. The manufacturer was contacted and offered to replace all black with black and red once it was back on sale.* The frame was a different design - unexpected.* The frame design differed from what is shown in the included assembly instruction booklet. This made assembly of the shifter and wheel carrier parts more difficult. I emailed the manufacturer about this and within minutes they sent me a PDF with the new 2018 build instructions. Five Star Customer Service! * Two screws are missing to attach the side plastic covers of the seat. Cosmetics, and the manufacturer quickly sent me replacement screws within the same week. Again, great customer service! Thankfully, another Revain user posted photos of the new 2018 design in their product review. These custom photos were very helpful in understanding how to complete the frame assembly. Having a very short and not very clear building guide and being given a block with a different design than what was shown in the building guide made the building process unnecessarily complicated. . In total it took me over 3 hours to assemble and get it ready to install the steering wheel. But now that I know how to set up a 2018 frame, it takes me 45 to 60 minutes to set up another when there are so many. It's not difficult, just the instructions weren't enough. DESIGN AND QUALITY ADVANTAGES: * Very durable and stable. * Reliable solder joints and high quality material. * Cool, high quality finish. * The seat looks nice and solid, but it's missing a loin. Support. Additionally, the cushioning is too firm for long races/training sessions.* Overall excellent ergonomics for the average adult or teen thanks to the adjustable frame.* The new 2018 design includes more mounting holes for all wheel, pedal and shifter models. * Solid metal angle adjustable pedal base. *The new 2018 design includes more pre-drilled holes for more steering wheels, pedals and switches. * Wheelbase support allows for lean angle adjustment. CONS: * The wheelbase support is now placed higher than the old design. When used with the G920, G29, G27 and G25, the setting is slightly above ideal for users under 6ft. I'm 5ft 9in and that's a bit big for me. Even if you consider that in racing the steering wheel has to be adjusted higher than in normal driving.* The angle adjustment of the wheelbase support is not precise enough - it only has three angles, which does not allow precise angle adjustment. I had to come up with a 'mod' to get my 'perfect angle'. * The shift assist does not allow you to adjust the height, angle or distance from the seat. However, the switch position was acceptable for my height and arm length. CONCLUSION The 2018 GTA model is an amazing simulation cockpit: solid, not too heavy, easy to move across the carpet, excellent quality, shipping and packaging. Customer service was also five stars. While it's not 100/100 perfect, there's nothing on the market that comes close at this price point. To get a better cabin, you need to spend at least 2-3 times more. I 100% recommend this cockpit for all skill sim races.
