* well packaged, double boxed plus a thin wooden box, good enough* delivered by amazon, good delivery, very heavy, good job amazon, free delivery* as flat or flatter than anything I can check it with* checked flatness with a Kinex 4033-12-020 Flat Solid Machinist Square 8" x 5.25" DIN 875/1 and it was perfect everywhere in every direction* checked flatness with an inexpensive but new Irwin straight edge (good enough for lots of work) and the flat granite surface made the Irwin straight edge look like a wavy ocean* the flat granite surface is not highly polished, not sure what a fine polish would do to the accuracy/precision of the flat granite surface, seems it could still be just as flat* I rate this at 4-1/2 stars, but no halfsies allowed, so four stars. Four stars instead of five just because a polished surface would have made it look really cool. Also it said "China" on one of the boxes. Here in the US, we need to make out own stuff.* whoever, whatever company made this in China did a good job, as best I can tellThis flat granite surface is a great deal. It must cost nearly as much to ship it (from China) as it costs to make it. It's as flat or flatter than anything I can test it with.
