So far so good with Fish & Aquatic Pets

aquarium lighting. I have a 20 gallon aqueon aquarium and an aqueon glass canopy. I have 2 Javanese 'Windelov' ferns growing on coconut shell halves and a large Subvassertanga bush. I'm sure they will grow well under this light. When I lift the front of the glass container to feed the fish I have to hold it open with one hand while trying to feed the fish with the other. This is the first gas cap that does not support itself in the open position. I think that he would support himself if this lamp didn't interfere. This is a poorly designed product that doesn't complement the tank and cap that are made by the same company. The light it gives off is in the cool blue/cool white range and not particularly attractive in my opinion. Another reviewer said the quality of the light output was not up to spec. This light disturbs people with macular degeneration and other eye problems/diseases. I thought I could use the blue lights as some sort of night light, but I can't see well with only the blue lights on. I'm not saying blue light isn't bright, but I'm saying it doesn't do much good for a person with night blindness. It is inconvenient to look at the lamp itself when the light is on. An additional bezel that shields the LEDs from direct view would be a welcome option. I would not allow a child with blue or light-colored eyes to regularly look into an aquarium for a long time.
