On my 2006 VW Passat I just plugged the 12 pin connector into the CD changer connector (blue connector) on the back of the head unit. Also ground one of the screws on the back of the main unit. The LED doesn't light up unless it's connected to Bluetooth, which led me to believe it wasn't working. Just press the CD button and connect to Bluetooth and everything works great. The instructions didn't give much information and I had to do some searching before I figured it out. The stereo wiring was very easy to do.
