The idea of having a front hitch on a Jeep is great. Provides additional cargo space with a tow hitch for a vehicle with more power but limited space. The installation process itself is quite simple but complicated. It took me three days but I gradually completed the process as soon as I got home from work. If I had to find out, I'd say only six hours, so definitely a weekend project. The hardest part was just aligning the knurled nuts. That alone took me maybe three hours. As hard as I tried, I just couldn't. But once it was finally hooked, everything was easy to put on. I did not remove the bumper and did not remove the brake booster pump. Luckily I have long thin fingers and was able to reach him. Also, I did my setup by raising the front end onto the ramps. It's gotten a lot easier to literally get hit by a jeep. Although maybe that's why it took me six hours. I had to drill a hole in the driver's side bumper. Easy with a 1/2 drill and even with a 12V Dewalt drill by just moving slowly. The tow bar is included and it is solid. It seems like it would be difficult to get out if there was ever a need to. For example if you later use an aftermarket bumper. But I love the standard Jeep look, and front hitch versatility is more important than aesthetics. Kurt makes another bracket for the front hitch. I accidentally ordered it and then sent it back, not realizing it was a Rubicon specific one with a different front bumper. It also uses different holes and brackets lower than this model. So there are a few things to consider.
