I bought this pet carrier because it was the largest on the market and met the dimensions (except height) required by Allegiant Airlines. Since it's a soft top I figured I could compress it to fit under the seat, but when you push the top of the trunk down it gets to a point where everything sags instead (may vary depending on seat height be a problem). That should be a positive feature - meaning the upper is solid and well supported - but I didn't need it for that. My ultimate goal was to fit two cats comfortably in one carrier, so I decided to purchase a giant carrier that still meets airline standards (I can't find a carrier that is 16" (width) x 19" " (depth) measures). Another issue I have with this carrier is that the padding is an inch, so the inside of this bag is nowhere near the same as the outside. My cats are medium sized and would not be comfortable in this carrier, having said that, the carrier is really good (but VERY expensive!). She is durable, well built and a luxurious way to travel for a pet! It's versatile too - it can be used as a pet bed and has many zip options. Pulling out the sides so you can clean the fabric, but in my case that's not an option as without them the wearer doesn't have the support they need. Of course I went with a different option, but hopefully, this information will help you decide! It's a good carrier but I really don't think it's worth the price if you don't travel with your pet often.
