I bought these hooks specifically to hold the gate open while I was working. I connect chain link to chain link. Works perfectly. They are sturdy, well made and long enough to get the job done. A swing gate will apply several pounds of force over 12 hours a day, MF. Hope these hold up over time. I like that there are two in the set in case one breaks or someone comes along and steals it.
