Installs in less than a minute. I bought this to fit in the back seat of my Ford Super Cab. It fits on the passenger side when the front seat is slid forward, but still leaves plenty of room up front for most passengers. It keeps my 80 lb chocolate lab from messing up the inside of the truck and is big enough for my dog to comfortably make long drives. The large size just fits in the back and I assembled it after it was in the car but assembly is so quick and easy it's not a problem. We've been using it for a few months now with no problems. Update, I've been using it for 2 years, once or twice a month. Everything is still good. My dog is not very demanding so the zipper works well. If you have a nervous, exuberant dog, you might be better off with a steel or hard plastic case. This daycare has worked really well for us.
