I have to say this knife is beautiful as is the box it came in; However, this doesn't work as I expected. With a few strokes of the knife I got short curls, and they were still too cold to spread on regular bread. The ads make it seem easy, but it's not. Spreading it on toast and hard rolls seems ok, but not on plain bread, and I've tried it several times. Once the holes are filled with any amount of oil, some of it will still remain in the holes, making it not as economical. Eventually anything that can be smeared will be eaten up by a large hole at the top, making it difficult to spread and redistribute. I find this tool completely useless. Finally, the blogger mentioned that you have to put the oil in the microwave to solve this problem. The? If it was in the description I wouldn't have ordered it. What a shame for such a beautiful knife. I will not buy it for myself or anyone else. I'm usually happy with almost anything I buy from Revain and post my reviews as such, but I've had a lot of trouble staying closed.
