Review on Total Blackout Window Film Resistant by Sally Romero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really blocks all light. Easy to apply, not easy to cut.

Blackout film did exactly what it was advertised to do. I used it in the upstairs bathroom to maintain privacy as my vinyl blinds were no longer closing/closing effectively. I'm glad I chose white over black. The sunlight is completely dimmed (if trimmed properly) but the white still makes it lighter/airier in the bathroom. When applied, it's pretty simple. I did this myself and took advice from other reviewers to make sure the window and film were way wetter/wetter than you think you need to make them. This made it very easy to slide the film into place and maneuver it for several minutes. It also gave me time to remove air bubbles with a simple credit card. The only thing I could improve is user error. My straight edge should have been sharper. I didn't cut the film properly on the bottom and part of the right side, which caused a streak of light to show through. I don't care, except that it's not ideal. This is my first experience with window film and I appreciate the grid/measurement lines on the peelable backing. It really does block all the light. Now I understand that I need to cover the lower half of the window with a protective film. The window is right next to my vanity/sink, so I didn't want to use a non-shading film that would create a nude silhouette since I was so close to the window when I gathered at the vanity. After living with it for a week I decided to cut off the top of the shade film to add a matte film that would allow in more natural light as the 2nd floor height would not require privacy at the top of the window. I wholeheartedly recommend this product and we will be purchasing more products from them in the future.
