This lock won't stand up to a full-size bolt cutter, but it's 100% deterrent to theft. I was recently at a restaurant in the arts district of downtown LA and my helmet got locked in by one of them, as did one of the other drivers. 4 other riders just had their helmets on the handlebars. When we came back three of those helmets were gone. If you had bolt cutters the mine wouldn't be there either, but that makes it more visible for theft and takes more time than most will spend. This keeps your helmet safe in most situations and that's why it does its job.
